    In October 2023, Global X Research surveyed 1,145 individuals in the United States regarding sentiment around factors such as password sharing and pricing models for streaming services.

    • 71% of individuals surveyed spent more than 6 hours on streaming platforms each week, and only 5% of respondents didn’t utilize streaming services.
    • 93% of the individuals surveyed paid for, on average, 3.4 streaming services, with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Hulu being the most popular among respondents.
    • Almost half (46%) of respondents have engaged in password-sharing, and due to crackdowns on password-sharing, 23% of respondents buy their own subscriptions.
    • Nearly half (49%) of respondents would watch ads to make subscription prices cheaper, and more than half (59%) are willing to bundle subscriptions to simplify subscribing to streaming services.
    • Price remains a prominent concern for many respondents, and 40% of respondents would reconsider their membership given a 10% price increase.
    • Amid the AI boom, 10% of respondents are comfortable with AI-generated content on streaming platforms.
